What will the BBL do?

We all know the situation. The world has stopped due to the Global Pandemic , the Corona virus. This has left many sports fans and myself in the dark about what will happen with their respective leagues.

There is three routes the British Basketball League can take. The first one being they give the title to the Glasgow Rocks sitting at the top of the league with 24pts, whilst the London Lions have 20pts with a game in hand. Although, Glasgow will still be top even if London win their game in hand, it will be unfair to give Glasgow the title because their is still a chunk of games remaining and one slip up makes everything level, once again.

The second route being they null and void the 19/20 season and act like it never happened. If the BBL decided to call the season Null and Void , Glasgow would feel treated unfairly and rightly so, seen as though they are top of the table and they would miss out on the championship if that was to happen.

The final route they can take is waiting for this Global Pandemic to stop and then play out the season afterwards. Although this means that no team will miss out as they will still be able to play the games they have remaining, this would most likely be around June onward and the new BBL season starts in October. Therefore the 11 teams in the league get a very limited off season and pre-season, or it completely messes up the schedule of the league which would force the league to start and finish later. This would have a Detrimental effect on the teams in the following season.
