A more successful week on my part this time round after getting all 3 of my predictions wrong leading up to it. This week I got 7 correct, and 3 wrong, this means I've got a positive record with 7 correct and 6 wrong! Lets see how it goes in this set of games..
WORCESTER WOLVES V PLYMOUTH RAIDERS:
After an interesting week of basketball, Worcester picked up their second W of the BBL Cup campaign after suffering a blowout defeat v Plymouth. With the form Plymouth seem to have, and with Worcester still trying to find a rhythm I think this game is for the taking for the Raiders, even if they are without star man, Ashley Hamilton. However, it will certainly be closer than 36pts. Even with the MVP caliber performances Jordan Williams is putting in, I don't think its enough to see themselves past the Raiders.
MANCHESTER GIANTS V GLASGOW ROCKS
The Manchester Giants have surprised a lot of people so far this season, as a Giants supporter myself, I'm here for it! After blowing out the Cheshire Phoenix by 42 points, the Giants will be full of confidence leading up to their double header against Scottish side, Glasgow Rocks. However, it wont just be Manchester full of confidence, as Glasgow were predicted to finish bottom by a lot of people this year and well, 2 wins out of 2, even if they were against a depleted Cheshire Phoenix. I do still think the physicality of Breaon Brady will be too much for Coach Murray and his Glasgow Rocks.
SURREY SCORCHERS V WORCESTER WOLVES:
With the Surrey Scorchers struggling to find their feet as of yet in the BBL Cup, this match will be an interesting one. Both teams have been blown out by Plymouth by 36pts and well, they both face off on Saturday evening at the SSP! Given that the majority of the Surrey roster has been together since the early summer, the start they've had can be seen considerably disappointing, especially with the roster they have built. Worcester will still be without their import players, however they do have two former Scorchers , Matthew Bryan - Amaning and sharpshooter, Henry Wilkins, they will be sure to want to get one over on their former team. However, after Worcester won the first one by a 1pt difference, I think the scorchers wont let it come that close this team and I think they will take the W in surrey.
SHEFFIELD SHARKS V NEWCASTLE EAGLES:
The last game for either side in the BBL CUP group stage, one team definitely need this victory oppose to the other, however I still think Newcastle will pickup another W, as Sheffield seem to struggle given their reliance on Nicholas Lewis, if Sheffield can find another way of scoring the ball then they may be able to steal this game, but with the dominance of Justin Gordon and Evan Maxwell in the frontcourt, Sheffield wont be able to compete with that.
GLASGOW ROCKS V MANCHESTER GIANTS:
The 2nd leg of a double header for each team, this time they face off in Scotland at the Emirates Arena, i think Manchester will also take this game and finish the BBL CUP group stage unbeaten, although Glasgow have also impressed, the physicality inside with the likes of Brady, Hexom and Ulph off the bench, I'm not sure whether the Rocks can deal with that twice in one week, especially when they are surrounded by snipers from behind the arc, i have Manchester going 2 wins from 2 this weekend.
