Players to watch out for in 20/21

Here I will be putting together a player profile for 3 players, either in the BBL or young British Talent that so far have had a limited role, but I think could have a breakout season this year.

1) Jordan Whelan

Jordan Whelan has spent two full seasons in the BBL, whilst also playing for Manchester Giants 10x in 16/17. However, most of his minutes have been off the bench. In Jordan's season in 19/20 playing for the London Lions, The 6'4" two guard put up 4.3ppg on 43% shooting. Given I'm assuming Jordan will have a bigger role in Manchester, I looked at his per36 min stats. The 26 year Old stats from his time in London are 14.9 PPG 5RPG and 2 steals per game.

Jordan has a tenacity to his game that many players don't, quick with ball and also quick to get back on defense. If Jordan is able to improve his 3pt shooting from 27% then he will be a big problem for the guys guarding him, and a great guy for the Manchester Giants to have in their rebuild.

2) Isa Brandon

The 23 year old suited up in Plymouth last season in his first pro season. As he is joining a Glasgow Rocks side that isn't as strong as in recent years, i think he will be getting a good amount of minutes this season. In the 11.5 minutes he got this season, Isa averaged 3.2ppg 46% FG and 42% from behind the arc. As with Jordan, i checked his per 36 stats after featuring 13 times for Plymouth, getting the start 3 times. In 36 mins the 6'4" Guard averages 10.2ppg , 3.1apg and 2.7steals per game. Providing a presence on defense. After moving \up to Glasgow i think Coach, Gareth Murray will give him a good amount of minutes, and i think Isa Brandon could have a very good year.

3) Jules Dang - Akodo

This will be Dang - Akodo's 3rd year in the BBL, playing for both the City Royals and now in his 2nd year at the Copper Box suiting up for the Lions in both the BBL and the BCL. Dang Akodo is already known as one of the leagues best Perimeter defenders, but with some more minutes he could also show what he can do on the offensive end as well. However, in the stacked roster that is the London Lions, he might not get a huge amount of minutes. In 36 mins the 6'2" Guard is averaging 12.2ppg 4.6apg and 2.2 steals per game. Providing the offense individually and providing for teammates.

Hopefully given the amount of games the Lions will have to play due to their European journey, that may mean JDA gets a larger role in the BBL and shows fans as well as other teams what he can do!
