Newcastle Eagles v Sheffield Sharks

1ST QUARTER:

It was an exciting game of basketball on a Tuesday evening in Newcastle, the home side got off to a bright start within two minutes of basketball leading 10-2 behind a good run of offense from the likes of Edwards and Maxwell, Sheffield then answered back outside of the timeout with a 9-0 run of their own, that was it for the Sharks though with the quarter finishing 24-15 in the Newcastle Eagles favour.

2ND QUARTER:

Back and forth first 5 minutes of basketball, Rahmon Fletcher opened the scoring with a Rahmon Fletcher style basket, veteran big man, Mike Tuck answered back with a three, from then on Mackey McKnight and Bennett Koch both picked up technical fouls, giving the eagles two easy points. Right out of the Eagles timeout the Eagles carry on the scoring with a pass from Cortez Edwards leading to a wide open top of the key jumpshot for Justin Gordon to extend the Eagles out to a 13pt lead. The lead extends out to 18 with a Buzzer Beater three from Eagles fan - favourite, Drew Lasker.

3RD QUARTER

It was raining threes in the 3rd quarter, after the first half, Newcastle going 3/8 and Sheffield going 2/8 from behind the line, both teams combined for 8threes in the quarter, 3 of the eagles three balls, were from Louis Sayers, with Rahmon Fletcher hitting from deep range to round off the quarter, seeing the Eagles into a 20pt lead (75-55)

4TH QUARTER:

Sheffield attempt to make run but it was too little too late bringing the game within 14, with around 7mins to go in the game. However, with the experience of Rahmon Fletcher and the confidence of this Eagles side, they didn't let Sheffield break any further into the lead after Coach MacLeod calls the Timeout to talk things over. Sheffield didn't let up once again, whilst the eagles took their foot off the gas, bringing the game to a 10point differential, 97-87.
